The excel connector reads Excel workbooks stored in OneDrive or SharePoint through Microsoft Graph. Every visible worksheet becomes its own record type, and its first row supplies the column names.
| Connector name | excel |
| Products | Records |
| Credentials | The portal's Connect button, or an Entra ID app's client id and secret and a refresh token |
| Permissions | Delegated Files.Read.All and Sites.Read.All |
| Status | Preview: tested against Microsoft's documented responses, not yet on a live account |
What it pulls
One record per non-empty row of each visible worksheet's used range, under the type <workbook>__<worksheet> in lower case (budget_2026__summary). Each record keeps its row number in _row, the workbook name in _workbook and the worksheet name in _worksheet. Hidden worksheets are skipped. Workbooks on personal Microsoft accounts may not support the workbook API.
Credentials
The same as OneDrive and SharePoint. Or skip the tokens: click Connect next to Excel in the portal (Settings → Connected systems), then run datayield connect excel --broker -o workbooks="...".
Connect
datayield connect excel -o workbooks="Finance/Budget 2026.xlsx,Clients/Fees.xlsx" \
-o clientId=<app id> -o clientSecret=env:MS_CLIENT_SECRET -o refreshToken=env:MS_REFRESH_TOKENOptions
| Option | Required | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
workbooks |
yes | Paths inside the drive, separated by commas |
drive |
no | me/drive (default), drives/<drive id> or sites/<site id>/drive |
clientId, clientSecret, refreshToken, tenantId |
yes, or accessToken |
As for OneDrive |
accessToken |
instead of the above | A current access token, for a one-off run. It expires within an hour. |
New records on each run
A workbook not modified since the last successful run is skipped. A changed one is sent whole, because Excel records no change time per row.
