Estimated first sale

$25k to $80k

$10k$100k$1M$10M
Then every month$830 to $2.7k

The first sale covers your history. Monthly income comes from new records the SDK sends once it's set up.

6. Where should we send your offer?

We won't share your details, and we sign a mutual NDA before any data moves.

What drives value

Six things that move the number

01

What the records show

Decisions and their outcomes are worth more than static lists. An invoice that was paid late and chased twice says more than an invoice.

02

Which systems

Lab notebooks, process data, claims files and contracts start higher in our model than a CRM, because labs find them harder to get.

03

Years of history

Longer histories show change over time. Our model gives more weight to each added year, with diminishing returns.

04

How many people create records

Bigger teams produce more records, so the estimate rises with team size, and so do monthly refresh batches.

05

Your rights

Data you can't clearly license is worth little to a lab. The estimate drops by 30% when you're not sure and by 70% when customer contracts restrict it.

06

Exclusivity and refresh

Exclusive licenses cost buyers more, and a refresh term adds a payment for every new month of records.

Public price signals

What buyers have paid in public deals

These are the clearest published numbers. Most company data deals are private, so use them as a sign of demand rather than a price for your records.

$203M

Data licensing contracts Reddit disclosed in early 2024, with terms of two to three years.

TechCrunch

$250M+

Reported value of News Corp's five-year content deal with OpenAI, including cash and credits.

Press Gazette

$10k-$100k

Per-company payouts for shut-down startups' Slack messages, tickets and email archives, across nearly 100 deals.

Forbes, April 2026

$200-$2,000

Typical price per reinforcement learning task, according to Epoch AI's interviews with people who build them.

Questions

About the estimate

How accurate is the estimate?
It is an indicative range from our pricing model, which we tune from real deals. The firm number comes from diligence on your actual data, the rights you hold and what buyers bid, and we confirm it with you on a 30-minute call.
Do you need access to my systems to estimate?
No. The calculator only asks five questions. If you go ahead, a sample shared under NDA lets us give you a readiness report before anything goes to a buyer.
Why does the estimate drop when I'm not sure about rights?
Labs won't pay for data the seller can't clearly license. We lower the estimate when rights are unclear and check your contracts on the call.
Is the number a one-time payment?
The estimate covers licensing your history. A refresh term can add a payment for every new month of records, which is how the data keeps earning.
Are there public prices I can compare with?
Only a few. Reddit disclosed $203 million in data licensing contracts, and Epoch AI's interviews put AI training tasks at $200 to $2,000 each. Most company data deals are private, which is why our industry price pages say where no public price exists.
